The wind has been blowing, and blowing. Friday when I was by myself (Doug is working in town), I had to choose a time, between 44 km gusts to bring in the awning. I let off one tether, ran to the other tether, held on for dear life, choose another moment, dashed inside and retracted the awning. Well, it was exciting at the time.....
Oh, here's an interesting story. The other day, our sister-in-law Elizabeth was driving into Merritt and encountered a moose and its calf on the road. The cow (Mama Moose) got so exciting it turned tail and kicked the calf (Baby Moose) in the head and knocked it out. Good Samaritan that she is, Elizabeth got out of the car and went to the now unconscious calf. Another guy stopped too. He began rubbing the calf's head and brought it around. Off it trotted to find Mama.
Very nice Elizabeth and unknown guy, but Moose are very, very dangerous.
Got a joke for ya! -
An obstetrician is tired of his job. He has had a couple of lawsuits against him and generally just needs a change of career, something that doesn't involve people. He enrolls in Heavy Duty Mechanics at college. He does really well. So well in fact that when he gets his grade he is shocked to see he got 150%.
He visits his instructor and asks "Why 150%?" The instructor replies "Well 50% of the mark is for taking apart the truck, you did it perfectly. And 50% is for putting it back together again, you also did that perfectly." "But" he asks "what about the final 50%?" "Well" says the instructor "you are the very first student who ever did all that through the muffler!"
Okay, I made you at least smile. My job is done!
