On Saturday, April 27, 2013, our loyal dog Parker, died. He was almost 14 years old and had been fighting a battle with Valley Fever for more than a year.
Doug is lost without him. We are making adjustments. I go on the morning walk with Doug. We have changed the furniture around so Parker's place is no longer empty. We have removed everything doggie.
Our hearts are broken but time heals all they say.

Sad to hear of Parker's passing, we follow your blog and always enjoyed reading about him in your posts. We know he had a great life.
a great dog who had a great life..
when we first get that new puppy we all think that they will live forever but the reality is that they are really only here for such a short time..I know that no words will take the pain away that you are both feeling..just know we are thinking of you this weekend..
hugs to you both
My heart aches for you and especially for Doug. Hard to believe how these mutts worm their way into our hearts.
I'm so sad for you. I know there is that empty spot. He was a special dog and very lucky to have a special family to live with. Time does heal but it sure doesn't help for the present. Again, we're so sorry for your loss.
So very sorry for your lose. Our prayers are for comfort for you two.
What a beautiful picture of Walker. It is always hard to have to say good-bye, because it is forever. It opens a big void in your days. Remember that he had an adventurous, good life and wonderful "parents". That was a life many dogs only can dream of. Now he is at a place where he has no pains and no ailment any more. And - slowly, slowly you will find peace in these thoughts. Hugs to both of you. Bea
We are so, so sad for your lost...we pray your pain eases and your memories with Parker stay fresh and make you smile more then sad!
There will always be a hole in your heart where Parker used to live. But he will live on in your memories forever. Take care of each other during these rough times.
Sorry to hear this, but yes time does SLOWLY heal the wounds left by their passing. Guess my Bandit now has another playmate there by the Rainbow Bridge.
Just reading our post today while at the airport. I know how that loss feels. Itw as the same with our lab Boomer in 2008. I see Bea renamed Parker and made hime a Walker. Maybe he was both... Parker and Walker.
You are not considering to get a new doggie?
No, never another pet. The grief is so hard to handle.
So sorry to hear about Parker. It's tough to lose a fur-kid. Hang in there one day it won't sting so much.
So sorry to hear about Parker. He was such a great dog and I know you both will really miss him.
