THIS AND THAT - All interesting stuff

While we were at Robbin's Nest RV park in town, I had the opportunity to speak with the owner/manager.  She has two prosthetic legs.  The last time we were there, she got around with canes.  This time, I tactfully asked for her story.  Wow, what an inspiration.

We came back to the wildlife refuge and although there were sites available, we would take a place along the fenceThat way if we have annoyed any officials about being here longer than the eight day limit, we were at least being fair to let others have the actual sites.

We stayed right here when we were here the first time.

We managed to take 90 gallons of water with us when we left the park
Early this morning, forestry and fire department trucks started rolling into the park.  Dozens of them.  Doug asked them what was going on.  They were having a controlled burn in the park.

Doug grabbed the camera and got some great shots.

The promised hot weather has arrived.  Today's lunch, outside, Cobb salad.  Yummy.

We saw a fire with big flames on the other side of the river the other day. We wondered if it was a controlled burn too. However, yesterday it was blazing again.

Every time I see a fire, controlled or not, I think of the big fires here in Texas. They are all caused by too dry ground...so sad.

Glad it as a controlled burn and not a response to a fire. Definitely warm especially for March.
