We have been without full hookups, water, electric and sewer since January 2nd. Full hookups? heck we haven't had any hookups at all.
Busy isn't it. This is the main part of the main street in Overton, Nevada. You can see the grocery store, the dollar store and the McDonalds from here |
We had to empty our tanks and after a little research we realized; price for overnight $18.00 (Good Sams discount); 30 gallons of water in our fresh water tank would cost $7.50 if we bought it; we can fill our 45 gallon water bladder $9.00 if we bought it; fill our 3 - 5 gallon water containers $3.75 if we bought it. So total gain $20.25!
Of course, there's the water we are going to use from this morning until tomorrow lunchtime, 2 long hot showers as opposed to our quick army showers. Doing dishes and letting the water go down the drain is quite exciting.
And the electricity is included. We have the television on all the time. Lights, hell ya.
Did I mention that the laundry here is cheaper than the laundromat down the road? And the clothes got cleaner. Not to mention that there are clothes lines so I didn't even have to dry most of the clothes. The sheets and towels clean fresh.
But you know what - our aircard doesn't work very well here and there are fewer channels on our tv.
Tomorrow at lunch time we will return to the wildlife refuge for another two weeks. But we will return before we begin our trek north (full of water for the trip)!

great deal..enjoy all the comforts of full hook ups!
You must feel like you are in RV heaven. The longest we have gone is 14 days. I was ready for every and all amenities.
It almost makes you want to stay up all night to enjoy those amenities .... right? We do know how you feel. When you've been out a while, all those things others take for granted make you feel like you struck paydirt! Enjoy!
Those long showers are the best part in my book. And you got lots and lots of water. Canadians here in the park are starting to talk about heading north also. Hope the weather cooperates.
So you've joined the boondockers that discover a night in an RV park now and then is a good investment. I'm happy for you.
I'd have to go to their shower house to get a long, hot shower. My water heater is only 2 1/2 gallons. :)
Enjoy your vacation within your vacation!
