LEAVING SOON–Our Route

After much deliberation and research, we have chosen our route south.  We want to avoid bad weather and more importantly we want to avoid high gas prices.  We want to take our time and have no deadlines.  We are leaving on Friday, October 19th.

Our very first stop will be Wells Fargo in Lynden, Washington to put all of our Canadian money (presently at $1.02 US) in our US account.

Not too far down the road we will be visiting Best Buy in Burlington, Washington to purchase a new phone and to make sure our air card is still okay.

After all that excitement we will just stay overnight at either Wal-Mart or Camping World and get a fresh start in the morning.
After that we are off.

At this point I was going to attach our map but alas, I cannot figure out how!  (Help me Jeri)  Anyhow…..Burlington to Coeur d’Alene, to Missoula, to Idaho Falls, to Salt Lake City, to Cedar City to Overton, Nevada.

Last April we discovered a wonderful place to park for free, The Overton Wildlife Refuge.  It’s not far from town and yet we will be completely on our own.  We will probably stay a week or 10 days there.

The rest of our six months in the US has no plan.  We will visit the Lake Havasu area and Quartzsite at show time.

We want to spend Christmas and New Years at our favourite Escapee park Rovers’ Roost in Casa Grande, Arizona.

Early February will see our rv-ing family reunited at Pilot Knob near Winterhaven which is in California but really in Arizona.

We would like to visit Tucson, San Antonio, and the Grand Canyon this time too but that’s for another planning session.

I'm not sure what map you're using! You're right .. we can only plan so much at a time. Besides if we planned much now, surely it would change.

What a great group that is!!!

Sounds like you have put some good thought into your future journey.
We missed Coeur d’Alene but wished we hadn't. Everyone says it is just beautiful.
Overton Wildlife Refuge sounds wonderful. Do you have any hookups?

If you need hook ups that county park in Shelby ID is a great place for the night. $18. Or the fairgrounds in Blackfoot. Be careful through SLC. That place is nuts. But have fun.

Hey Toni, just might work out for me to be in the Burlington area around mid day on the 19th.
