Douglas Lake Cattle Company

Another side trip.  Wednesday Doug and I had a rare day off together.  We wanted to make it a fun day and visiting Doug's Mom in the nursing home can be very trying.

There is another route.  Over the hill to Gramma's house.  From Monck Park, along the 5A and over the mountains.  This huge area runs through The Douglas Lake Cattle Company ranch.

This is the mother of all ranches.  As you can see - a half million acres.

Parts of it are guest ranches.  Very, very expensive.  The Queen has visited.  Rich people fly in.

The original owners, the Woodwards, also owned a chain of department stores in British Columbia.

Beautiful, beautiful drive and Gramma was interesting too.  Interesting!

Wonder how much trouble they had with rustlers? That brand looks to me like it would be very easy to modify. Not that I would ever do such a thing. Just wondering if others did.
