A MAGIC TIME AT SUNSET

As we wind down the time we have left in Casa Grande we are spending a lot of time getting together with friends.  The other night was a real treat, magical in fact.  We gathered at friends Katy and Gary's lot for a spaghetti dinner pot luck.  The day had been a scorcher so the light breeze was warm and the sunset quite spectacular.

Doug, Katy, Joan, Gary and Ken

Our friend Ken was in a band for many years.  In the three years we have known him I had not yet heard him play.  His wife, Joan, has a voice like an angel.
Joan is the painter who painted the picture on the side of our rig.

As night fell, the music was enchanting.  Being about the same age, the songs were familiar to  all of us.  Folk songs, Canadian some of them; anti-war songs; a little Janice Joplin; a little Bob Dylan.

I'm sorry you cannot see Ken singing but here is a wee sample of the night's fare.  Please listen until the end.  The wind was playing havoc on the recording in the beginning.  Love it!!

Goodbyes are hard but also so much fun. And you only have a few months till you see them again.

Sounds like you're having a great time just getting ready to get on the road again. It's not "goodbye" but it's just "see you next year".
