NEW FRIENDS AND VISITORS

Over the course of the past week, we have made some new friends.  The first totally new friends and the second couple are people I knew through their blog and Facebook.

One night while working in the gatehouse at Monck Park a couple of women came into the store with a question.  I don’t even recall what the question was but the conversation turned to the fact that Doug and I are full-timers.  Elaine’s face lit up!  She dreams of the day she can become a full-timer.  Elaine her friend Cheryl were guest in the park and subsequently guests at our house.  Wonderful women!  Great new friends.  Elaine’s job ends in the spring, she is alone, she is so anxious.  She has attended an RV show and knows what she wants.  She had lots of very pertinent questions to ask.  I know that we will see her down the road.  Cheryl is younger but is very supportive of her friend’s dream.

We have been looking forward to meeting Sue and Doug since our Escapees friend Sandie (Where are the Dixon’s Today) introduced us to Sue’s blog Big Dawg and Freeway.  Sue made reservations in our park and arrived on Friday.

We had pot luck at our house on Friday night and did a lot of laughing.  Sue and Doug will be full-timers in 2014.  In the meantime, they torture themselves by being weekenders.  They will be ready though.

We found we have a lot in common (although they are a lot younger than usWinking smile).  We know that in 2014 they will be a welcome addition to our rv’ing family.  Tucker too!

In addition to some new friends, we had some little visitors too.  Doug’s brother David and wife Elizabeth had their grandsons Maclean and Calum for the weekend.

The following day, our Winnipeg grandsons, James and William, came for an overnight.  We got the four boys together and they got along famously.

Sunday afternoon our daughter Nicole and her husband Mike arrived to take William and James to Vancouver for a few days to spend some time with their cousins that they barely know, Nico and Jakob.  I heard the Pacific National Exhibition is on the agenda.

Glad to know you're not both working "all" the time. New friends, isn't it wonderful to meet them.

Family and friends are what make staying parked long time bearable. Good for you.
