SALMON ARM MODEL RAILROAD CLUB - a treasure

Today we went to visit the Salmon Arm Model Train Club in the mall that Doug's brother owns.  He lets them have a room in the mall rent free.  What a treasure.  Mostly staffed by retired guys, they put a lot of work into their hobby.

See on the far right, the firemen on the roof.  There is actual smoke.  The club guy told us that when they were in Calgary, they were not allowed to make the smoke because of the no smoking by laws.  It's not cigarette smoke but it is oil smoke.

The detail is amazing.

This bridge took over 2000 hours to complete.  It's an exact replica of one in Vancouver.

Visiting the model railway club is by donation only.  What a treasure.  Great guys too.

Parker is laying by the open door of the 5'er.  In the last 1/2 hour an ambulance was right there and he had to howl.  The gardener came by with the edger and now a woman is mowing, back and forth, right in front of his nose.  He is not a happy puppy.  OH NO - now the leaf blower too.

We love these exhibits. We have visited two along our travels. They are so cool. So many hours to put together.
Send our hugs to Parker.

I rarely enlarge all the photos of a blog but I did this one. It has been a long time since I saw a model railroad finished to such a detailed level. Thanks.
