A Long Day but a Fun Day

We wanted to leave Park Sierra early. First we had to contend with the frost! The awning had frost on it so we had to go in and out, in and out, in and out, until it broke off. The truck doors were frozen too. Turns out the meter in our site was not working properly and we had three different readings. Took about 45 minutes to get it all sorted out.

We did great navigating through Stockton and on up to the Napa Valley. The wild flowers on the side of the freeway are magnificent. Bright oranges, yellows and various shades of pink and purple.

We found the Jelly Belly Factory in Fairfield without too much trouble. There was RV parking but it was a bit tight. Anyhow, we had lunch (too expensive for what you got - a burger on a bun that is shaped like a jelly bean) and did the tour. The tour guide was awful. Twenty something, sounded bored to tears. Interesting tour though. I always wondered how they got the name on all those tiny beans. They gave out quite a few samples. Jelly Belly beans favourites - #1 Cherry, #2 Buttered Popcorn, #3 Licorice. I agree with #2 and #3. I told them they should eliminate Coffee though.

Got Graeme a t-shirt and some jelly bellys for the grandchildren.

There was a lot of traffic north of Fairfield. Amazing wineries but none advertised RV parking so we couldn't stop. Going through St. Helena was an eye opener. Holy cow, RICH people and lots of them. I felt dowdy.

Cute shop for us dog lovers, JJJeri and Janice ........
