Catching Up - Continued

The Okanagan - Family and Familiarity - September 11, 2009

The first four days were spend boondocking in brother Bill's shopping centre, Piccidilly Mall in Salmon Arm. As mother Kay lived in assisted living across the street from the shopping center it was convenient and FREE. There is a dump station in the parking lot and we were able to take in the fair.

We were also able to have the fifth wheel inspected at Canadian Tire, registered and insured.

From Salmon Arm, we skipped over to the family farm in Armstrong on September 14th. Our nephew Andrew and his partner A'vee were great hosts and we had a very enjoyable time.

September 18th we continued on to Merritt and camped (no services) at Monck Park just down the hill from brother David and Elizabeth. We spent most of our time at their beautiful house, eating, drinking and having a blast.

At last on September 22nd we were back in Langley. Within minutes of arriving at Livingston RV Park (adequate) Graeme arrived. A few hours later Jason, Michelle and Sophie arrived. We had a great visit. I had missed them immensely.

We spent a week visiting friends, going out for dinner and having Graeme over every night for dinner. Niki, Mike and the kids visited at the end of the week.

At this point we were ready to really begin the new life, however, after a simple gall bladder procedure, Doug's Mom developed complications and we had to go back to the Okanagan. After getting her settled with cousin Eila, we were off, at last.
